Chair spring term 2015 Foundation Governor since 2013 Working background I have worked as a primary school teacher for 23 years. Until 4 years ago I worked full time, now I work as a supply teacher which I love as it gives me chance to see how things are run in a variety of other schools. I was a governor in the primary school I taught in for 12 years. Links with school I have 3 sons, all of whom attended St. Joseph’s.  Which of the committees are you currently on?  a member of the Standards committee. A few sentences to describe why you became a governor As a teacher I was always grateful for the support given to my school by our governing body. Often they were critical and demanding but it helped us as a school move forwards and improve the standards and as a result improve the education of the children in our care. I chose to send my children to the school and I therefore want to see St. Joseph’s thrive and succeed and become an Outstanding school. If, by giving a few hours of my time each half term, I can help the head and staff at the school to raise standards and ensure that every child there

Parent Governor since October 2014 Working background I am a qualified Careers Advisor. Previous to this role I worked in Marketing for Liverpool Airport for 3 years, and then moved onto setting up a Customer Service Department for a Greeting Card company, before becoming a trainee Careers Advisor for Connexions, where I served 12 years and completed various roles before leaving as Area Manager. Links with school Funky Munkys Ltd – breakfast and After School Club and my Son attended St Joseph's.in  Which of the committees are you currently on? Business Committee A few sentences to describe why you became a governor I am very interested in not only my child’s education but the education of others, ensuring that as a school we are doing the best possible to enhance our children’s lives both educational and socially and emotionally.

Foundation Governor since January 2014 Working background Legal professional, now work in banking Links with school I live locally and have been part of St Joseph's Parish since childhood. Which of the committees are you currently on? Business committee A few sentences to describe why you became a governor I became a governor because an independent governing body ensures high standards throughout the school and for everybody involved with the school. This allows the school to maximise the potential of all pupils and give them a great start to secondary education.

Business committee A few sentences to describe why you became a governor I became a Governor because I wanted to help make a difference to the school and to work in collaboration with the teachers to ensure the best possible education for pupils, past and present.

Mrs P Craig - Parent Governor

I joined the Governing Boding October 2018. I have worked for Cheshire Constabulary in the Force Control Centre for 8 years, In this role, I have experience in dealing with complex crimes, providing advice and reassurance to victims and witnesses and dealing with safeguarding incidents.   

Prior to this, I worked as a Recruitment Consultant recruiting Teachers for temporary and permanent roles within the Cumbria area.

My daughter is currently in Year 1 at the school.

I will be on the Standards Committee

I am driven by the desire to get the best for all children at St Joseph’s, as well as for their families and the wider community.  Just like every other parent at St Joseph’s I want the very best for my children. I want them to be happy, confident and get the best from their education.  I am excited to be part of the team to help St Joseph’s maintain its high standards and meet future challenges.  I am privileged to be given the opportunity to represent parents and carers at the school. 


Mr J Kinsella - Foundation Governor

Foundation Governor since October 2014  I have been working in the Flood Resilience team at the Environment Agency. My role involves working throughout Greater Manchester and Merseyside liaising with emergency planners and the public to raise the awareness of flood risk and develop strategies to mitigate the risk. Prior to my present job I taught Science and I.T. for 31 years at William Beamont High School. Links with school My three children have all attended St Joseph’s and at present I have 2 grandchildren who are pupils. I am on the   Curriculum committee.  I was approached by Fr Richard and asked to consider becoming a Foundation Governor. Because of my long association with the school and my experience of teaching I decided to take up the position.

Staff governor since September 2014 Working background Class teacher in Year1 KS1 Coordinator. Links with school Class teacher and Manager of Foundation Stage and Key Stage One. Which of the committees are you currently on? Standards committee A few sentences to describe why you became a governor I was spending a lot of time analyzing data and presenting it to governors within my role as key stage coordinator, so when the position of staff governor came up, I saw it as a way of making a real contribution to the strategic management of the school, while providing an interesting and rewarding dimension to my job.
