Pastoral Care

Pastoral care is about championing the needs of children who may be facing barriers to effective learning both inside and outside the school.

We work with the children, teachers, parents, carers, families, schools and other agencies, helping to construct a flexible and responsive network.

Areas within school that we can focus on include:-

  • Emotional well being
  • Safeguarding
  • Self esteem and confidence building
  • Social skills
  • Motivation
  • Anger management
  • Attendance/punctuality
  • Transition – to high school, from one class to another or from another school
  • Prefects
  • School Council

Usually your child’s teacher will identify children who need support and give them that support in school.  The value of positive and active involvement by parents/carers cannot be overstated.

As a school we work closely together around the child to support each child and thus enable them to access the curriculum. For children whom we feel somewhat vulnerable, we have created a StaySafe group of key staff across the school that meet half termly to ensure their overview.
